Our Spaces
The Sekforde spreads over three floors, and each one has a room you can make your own.
We don’t charge a hire fee for any of them — we ask for a minimum spend instead.
The Grand Ballroom
Our grand ballroom sits on the first floor, with two original fireplaces, bright colours and huge windows — the perfect canvas for an elegant party.
A large part of our development project was restoring this space back to its original beauty from 1829. It is very versatile, lending itself to standing receptions of up to 100 people, or dining for up to 60.
It also makes a fine daytime room for meetings, training days and lunches: high speed internet, a TV screen that connects to a laptop for presentations, and tea, coffee, breakfast and lunch on request.
The Parlour
In the basement we have created a “speakeasy” era late night drinking den, also known as The Parlour.
The frescoes on the back wall are based on the Thomas Sekforde almshouses, which he built for the poor and which still stand today in Woodbridge, Suffolk. In the middle is our heat exchange system, a metre beneath your feet, quietly powering the entire pub.
The Parlour holds a reception for up to 60 people and dining for 32.
The Back Bar
The Back Bar is a semi-private area on the ground floor of the pub — tucked out of view of the other customers, but with easy access to the bar.
It gives you your own quieter corner within the vibrant atmosphere of the pub, which makes it a good fit for smaller parties and dinners. It holds a reception for up to 30 people and dining for 18.

Reservations
We absolutely love to host at the Sekforde and we can cater for many tastes with our talented chefs and front-of-house team.

Group Bookings
We can host formal dinners, informal drinks, parties, quizzes, christenings, weddings and anything else you could think of.
We also have a passionate team of chefs who are happy to cater to all tastes and preferences.
Our upstairs ballroom is a wonderful space for daytime business meetings or lunches, training days and meetings. We have high speed internet, a tv screen that can connect with laptops for presentations, we can provide tea, coffee, breakfast and lunch.
Private Dining
We are more than happy to do two or three courses, and are open to any menu changes to make it a wonderful meal.
Our attentive staff will be on hand to take care of everything for the evening.
